Olin Stephens

Olin Stephens (1908-2008) was an American yacht designer who, along with his brother Rod, founded Sparkman & Stephens, one of the most successful yacht design firms in history. Stephens was responsible for designing numerous America's Cup winners and many of the most successful ocean racing yachts of the mid-20th century. His designs were known for their excellent performance, seaworthiness, and timeless beauty. Stephens' influence on yacht design was profound, and his work helped establish many of the principles that guide modern yacht design. Many of his designs are still actively raced and cruised, testament to their enduring quality and appeal.
